BBQ Grilled Chicken Shawarma

INGREDIENTS

1 kg boneless & skinless chicken thighs, cut into 2cm pieces/chunks
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp Supreme Garlic Powder
1 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp Supreme Coarse Black Pepper
1 tsp Supreme Chilli Powder
1 tsp Supreme Nutmeg Powder
1 tsp Supreme Cinnamon Powder
½ tsp Supreme Green Cardamom Powder
1/4 tsp Supreme Clove Powder
Salt to taste
Lemons, sliced in half
Whole tomatoes

METHOD

In a bowl, mix together oil, garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, chilli powder, nutmeg powder, cinnamon powder, cardamom powder and clove powder. Add marinade to the chicken thighs and rub all over. Marinate overnight or up 24 hours. Remove marinated chicken from the refrigerator and bring to room temperature. Start with a whole tomato and end with half a lemon, thread all the chicken onto long metal skewers, packing the thighs down between the tomato and lemon so that they are compact. Grill chicken on a pre-heated BBQ, on medium high heat until all sides have nice grill marks and cooked through. Alternatively you can bake the chicken thighs in a 200°c oven for 30-40 minutes. Serve immediately with warm khubz and sides of your choice.
